The International Office held the 2011 HBUT Annual International Affairs Report and the Fourth Sharing Conference of Faculty Members and Students International Exchange, December 20. Mr. Liu Ligang, director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office, Hubei Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Yan Xinqiao, director of the Foreign Expert Bureau, Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Department, Ms. Zhang Xue, director of the Passport and Visa Administration Office, Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Department, attended the meeting. Also present at the meeting were HBUT General Secretary Zhou Yingjia, HBUT President Liu Defu, HBUT Vice-president Dong Shijie, leaders of all the different schools and departments, and nearly 300 faculty members and students. Amy Long, deputy director of the International Office, presided over the event bilingually.
Terry Ye, director of the International Office, briefly reported the international affairs that took place at HBUT throughout 2011, as well as the accomplishments HBUT achieved, with facts and figures. Subsequently, excellent departments and individuals who made particular contributions to HBUT international affairs as well as the outstanding foreign teachers in 2011were recognized and awarded. After the annual report, faculty member and student representatives, who completed their short-term exchange abroad last summer, respectively shared their personal experiences during the trip from various perspectives such as the general impression of the USA, American campus architecture and environmental art, lifestyle in the USA, and the comparison between Chinese and American education.
The annual report and sharing conference ended in success and was highly acclaimed by the leaders from Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Department.
