Since it was initiated in 2008, the Sino-German joint education program between Hubei University of Technology (HBUT) and University of Wuppertal has been favored by a number of students due to its rigorously organized teaching and management system. In order to provide the students with more choices of German higher education, HBUT and the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern (UASK), eventually concluded agreement of cooperation in May, after one-year negotiation and preparation, thus introducing a second partner into the HBUT Sino-German collaborative program.
Prof. Gunnar Heibrock from the UASK Faculty of Civil Engineering visited HBUT for the purposes of selecting the first group of students intended to transfer to UASK for further education, and was warmly received by the leaders from HBUT Civil Engineering School and International Office, June 27, 2012.
7 out of the 12 HBUT Sino-German Program students interviewed by Prof. Gunnar Heibrock passed the selection in addition to the 16 students who had previously passed the German language test as well as the test on the specialized subject area conducted by the University of Wuppertal. In total, 23 students under the HBUT Sino-German Program are expected to transfer to Germany this October.
